About the tour

Departure towards the north of the country, where, about 50 kilometers away, we will visit Ajloun Castle, a fortress built in 1185 and later rebuilt in the 13th century by the Mamluks after its destruction by the Mongols. It is a castle from the Crusader era, located on top of a mountain, offering a beautiful panoramic view. We then continue to visit Jerash, one of the cities of the Decapolis. Jerash is located north of Amman, approximately 45 km away and about an hour’s drive. During the excursion, we will visit a truly well-preserved Roman city of the Decapolis. Highlights include the Arch of Triumph, the Oval Plaza, the Cardo (main street), the colonnade, the Temple of Aphrodite, and finally, the Roman Theatre, renowned for its wonderful acoustics. The preservation of Jerash’s ruins continues to amaze visitors today, allowing a very clear idea of what cities were like in ancient times.
